Over 60% of the strata-titled Refit Complex facilities at the $150 million Rivergate Marina & Shipyard destination have sold prior to completion of construction.
Rivergate Sales Manager, Mr Grahame Werrell said that ADCO Constructions would complete the Refit Complex in April this year.
He said that 14 of the 23 facilities had sold to a range of marine industry enterprises with nine still on the market priced between $650,000 and $1.3 million.
“Most factory units have an average of 200 square metres on the ground floor with a 70 square metre air conditioned office area on the mezzanine level.
“Major buyers have included Mustang Marine; Lex Baddiley Marine Engineers; Seamech Solutions; Sea Power Marine; Darren Berry International Marine; and Wright Interiors Pty Ltd.
“Total sales revenue from the sale of the refit units has now reached over $10 million,” he said.
Mr Werrell said that the balance of stock would now be marketed for either sale or lease to boat builders and marine industries Australia-wide and in New Zealand.
“This is an opportunity for boating industry specialists and ancillary industries to finally gain an industry cluster in the growing Brisbane Marine market.
“Rivergate is putting Brisbane on the world super yacht map and will become the nation’s new international hub.
“This makes a presence at Rivergate a must,” he said.
All but three of the Refit Complex units open on to the 12,000 square metre Hardstand which will be serviced by 75 tonne and 300 tonne travel lifts.
Rivergate is taking shape on the Brisbane River adjacent to the Gateway Bridge, with its Hardstand and Marina now open for business.
Rivergate will also ultimately comprise:
- deep water marina berths for 10 metre yachts through to 60 metre international super yachts;
- service berths for yachts up to 60 metres;
- high speed refuelling and pump out facilities;
- dry storage facility for up to 300 boats;
- yacht sales showrooms and repairers;
- a riverfront boardwalk with restaurants and cafes;
- administration offices and potential hotel.
Rivergate is being developed on a 15.24-hectare site purchased from the State Government in June 2004.
Civil works began in September 2004 with marina approval secured in December 2004 with a 50 year, 4.16 hectare seabed lease being granted.
Rivergate is located adjacent to the Gateway Bridge at the Rivergate Marine and Industry Park, 15 minutes from the CBD, 10 minutes from Brisbane Airport and six nautical miles from Moreton Bay.
Murarrie Developments Pty Ltd, a company associated with Mr Bob Hill and Ms Judy Brinsmead and Central Properties Corporations’ Mr Stephen Gosling, is undertaking Rivergate.
